Many years ago, I began a quest to find an amazing chocolate cake recipe. I found such a recipe that is so easy to make and anyone can make it.

This cake serves 20-25 people depending on the size that you cut the pieces. You can get 24 cupcakes out of it or two round, 8-inch cakes with another 6 cupcakes, or one lasagna size (10″x15″) baking pan. This cake stays very moist and stays that way for several days.

Cooking times will vary depending on the size cakes you are making.

Amazing Chocolate Sour Cream Wedding/Birthday Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 18oz chocolate cake box mix
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1⅓ cups water
  • ⅛ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325F
  2. Place everything into a stand mix
  3. Mix on low until everything is combined
  4. Scrape down the sides of the bowl
  5. Mix on medium speed for 2 minutes
  6. Divide mixture into greased and floured cake pans, filling them a little over half full.
  7. Lightly tap pans to bring air bubles to the top
  8. Bake until toothpick comes out clean
