Chicken Lattice Casserole
This was my childhood favorite casserole and was the dish that won Art over when we were dating!
Servings 8
Ingredients
- 4 cups cooked chicken diced
- 1 pound frozen mixed vegetables or any favorite vegetable combination
- 1 small can french fried onion rings
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cans cream of chicken condensed soup
- 1 soup can milk
- 1 can crescent rolls cut into strips, length wise
Instructions
-
In a large mixing bowl, add chicken, vegetables, 2/3rds of cheese and onion rings, cans of soup, and milk. Mix well.
-
In a lightly greased 9×13" baking dish, add chicken mixture. Bake in preheated 350° oven for 20 minutes.
-
After 20 minutes of baking, remove from oven and top with remaining cheese and onion rings.
-
Open and gently unroll can of crescent roll dough. Cut into strips, lenthwise. Using a lattice pattern, lay the strips in a crisscross pattern on top of the casserole. Bake for another 15-20 minutes or unti biscuit topping is golden brown.
-
Serve with rice to stretch the casserole. Enjoy! 🙂
