Crockpot Spicy Pinto Beans – No Soaking Necessary

Toss everything into the crockpot and forget about it! These beans taste fabulous and are sure to be a hit at any table!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound dried pinto beans (3 cups = 1lb of beans)
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 small sliced jalapeno pepper
  • 8 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp chicken boullion
  • 3 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 3 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1.5 tsp ground cumin
  • 1.5 tsp paprika
  • 3/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 1.5 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Place all of the ingredients EXCEPT the salt into a slow cooker and mix.

  2. Cover and cook on high for 5-6 hours.

  3. Add salt to taste when beans are finished cooking.

  4. Serve with hot cornbread and applesauce
