Having sweets around your house can really do a number on ones figure. But sometimes you just need that little bit of chocolate or sweets to satisfy a craving. I try not to keep a lot of sweets around, but my husband and I occasionally enjoy a brownie in a mug in the evenings.
We have tried many different recipes but I have found this one to be my favorite. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. On a side note, I have put in parentheses next to the quantity of each ingredient, the amount for a small serving with fewer calories but just as satisfying. I would have taken a picture, except I ate it all before I could get my camera!
*The small amount of baking powder seems to really make all the difference in the world and whether or not this comes out tough.
- 4 (2) Tbsp flour
- 4 (2) Tbsp sugar
- 2 (1) Tbsp baking cocoa
- ⅛ (pinch) tsp baking powder
- 3 (1½) Tbsp water
- 3 (1½) Tbsp oil
- Pinch of salt
- Dash of vanilla
- chocolate chips
- Put all of the dry ingredients in your mug and stir.
- Add water, oil and vanilla.
- Mix until well blended.
- Add chocolate chips.
- *Note: Cooking times varies from microwave to microwave and start with less time and check brownie to see if it is fully cooked.
- Cook in microwave on high for 1½ to 2 minutes for normal size recipe or 1 minute for smaller recipe.
- Top with whipped topping and enjoy!
