Product Review: Video: InStyler TULIP Auto Curler Video Review – Does It Really Work? + 30% Coupon

My daughter has such pretty long hair but when it comes to having it hold a curl, it usually falls out almost immediately!  One poor hair dresser tried to put ringlets in her hair for a wedding she was in and despite all best efforts, my daughter’s hair was straight.  When I received the InStyler TULIP Auto Curler to demo and try from VocalPoint, I had my doubts that this would work for my daughter.  But my daughter was excited about something new to try.

First Impressions

• It looks SCARY!  The tool is large and I was scared that it was going to get her hair tangled in it.
• There are lots of settings and I wasn’t quite sure which one to use for her hair.
• I’ll be amazed if this actually works without hurting someone.

After pulling it out of the box and reading the instructions, we decided to try it out.  By the way, I HIGHLY recommend you read the instruction booklet before using this for the first time.  It heated up fairly quickly, but I was nervous about how much hair to put in the curler.  It came with a handy tool to help you judge how much hair you should use.  After a few times, I got the hang of how much hair you could use.  The beeping timer is annoying but helpful in knowing how long you should keep it in your hair.

Much to my amazement, it actually worked. It made beautiful curls! That was something that I have never, ever, ever been able to achieve with a standard curling iron.  I continued around her head, curling a little bit a time.  It took a good 30-40 minutes just to get all of her hair curled, but when I was done, it looked lovely.

The next test was to see how long it would last.  She had no hair spray or gel in her hair, it was just straight, day old hair.  After 4 hours, it was still just as bouncy as when I first curled it and by the 8 hour mark, it was slightly more relaxed but looked just as good. I was amazed!!! For hair that NEVER could hold a curl, this worked wonders!!!

Overall Impression

It was definitely scary letting something automatic touch my daughter’s hair. But it actually worked and worked on hair that refuses to hold a curl. I found the curler was somewhat awkward and and bulky and takes up a lot of room in bathroom cabinet.  If you are looking a curler that does all the work for you, this is definitely the tool for you.
