The original recipe called for one cup of brown sugar in the topping. All of us felt that that made the meatloaf a little too sweet for our likings, so I would recommend cutting the brown sugar back to 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup. The carrots add some nice color to the pale turkey and you don’t even taste them.

Turkey Style Meatloaf

The Rotel tomatoes add a great flavor to the ground turkey in this turkey meatloaf recipe

Serves: 8
Ingredients
- Meatloaf:
- 2lbs ground turkey
- 2 eggs, beaten
- ½ cup milk
- 1 cup bread crumbs, Italian style
- 1 small sweet onion (14/-1/2 cup chopped)
- 2 cans Rotel Chili's and Tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- Topping:
- 1 cup ketchup
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp yellow mustard
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Mix all of the ingredients for the meatloaf in a bowl.
- Pat into a greased loaf pan
- Mix together topping ingredients
- Spread topping on top of the meat mixture
- Bake in preheated oven for about 45 minutes
- Allow to cool 10 minutes before slicing and serving
