This delicious sour dough has been in my family for well over 30 years. It's a basic dough that you can use for bread, cinnamon bread or sticky buns!
Add all of the ingredients to a large bowl or stand mixer and mix/knead until you have a soft and elastic dough, about 10-12 minutes. You may need to adjust the amount of flour depending on how moist your starter was.
In a lightly greased bowl, add finished dough and turn the dough over so all of the dough has been coated with the oil. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and allow to rest until doubled. *This could take several hours/overnight depending on how active your sour dough starter is.
After your dough has doubled, punch it down and knead it a few times. Divide the dough into two equal parts and shape into loaves. Place the loaves into greased loaf pans.
Cover the loaf pans with plastic wrap and allow them to rise in a warm place for several hours. Again, this may take 4-5 hours depending on your starter.
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Remove plastic wrap from loaves and bake for 30-45 minutes.
Wrap well. You may also freeze the bread if you would like.
